Franschhoek Country House & Villas

Last week we had the pleasure of staying at the exclusive #5star #boutiquehotel, Franschhoek Country House & Villas, located in the heart of the famous #Franschhoek valley, and wow...it did not disappoint! An interesting part of its #history is that the original manor house was a perfumery back in the 1890's, evidence of this is all the estate lavender, lemons, lilies and other fragrant plants found on the estate - homage is paid to this in the logo used by #FranschhoekCountryHouseandVillas.

Franschhoek Country House & Villas offer a selection of well-equipped rooms including Standard Rooms, Luxury Rooms, Garden Cottages and Villa Suites. We were accommodated in the most luxurious Villa Suite, arguably the best #suite on offer in the #winelands. The suites are each a total of 100sqm in size which include a separate lounge, bedroom and picturesque bathroom and 2 private balconies.

As one enters you immediately feel an #atmosphere of #luxury and space. The suites include comfortable seating arrangements, an in-room dining facility, mini-bar, entertainment system with satellite tv, fireplace, air-conditioning, DVD player and music throughout the suite. The lounge also leads out onto a large private balcony with loungers to relax and enjoy the amazing gardens and views.

The pool area was top notch, two pools...one heated and one cold water that is big enough to do some laps or just chill and relax in the heated pool. The area is very calming and relaxing and brings peace and tranquillity to anyone.

The #breakfast spread is also worth an added mention. There is a full continental breakfast buffet, as well as a breakfast menu where one can order anything from eggs benedict to a hearty omelette.

As you all know, fitness is a big part of my life, so I was happy to hear that one gets free entry to the Franschhoek Health Club which is a 5 minute drive away, a complimentary transfer and pick up is also included in your stay. So after breakfast subsided, I headed to the #gym for a great workout!

The #service from the staff was definitely worthy of a 5-star luxury hotel...friendly and always available. Franschhoek Country House & Villas is highly #recommended to anyone wanting to stay over in Franschhoek, trust me, you won't be disappointed!
