Food & Wine
First and foremost Franschhoek is about food and wine – and lots of it! The number of top rated restaurants together with the excellent boutique wine farms of the Franschhoek Valley makes this the most perfect place to visit in all of South Africa for food and wine lovers! In addition to the Franschhoek Wine Valley the Stellenbosch and Paarl wine routes are both within a scenic half an hour’s drive of Franschhoek offering an even wider choice. The wine routes are easy to navigate, however, we can easily arrange a guided wine and cellar tour on your behalf should you prefer!
The famous town of Franschhoek
This charming town, encircled by mountains offers a range of shops for all interest including:

Beyond Franschhoek
Many return guests have decided to make the beautiful town of Franschhoek their "home base" and travel to some of the other well known areas of the fairest cape during the day such as:
- A day visit to one of the beaches – Hermanus, Gordon’s Bay or Strand
- Take a day trip to Hermanus – a charming town where whales can be spotted during season
- Visit Cape Town and surrounding area – only 45 minutes drive from Franschhoek
- Enjoy the surrounding towns of Stellenbosch and Paarl – both in less than 30 minutes drive from Franschhoek
